I think long-term Oj Mayo is going to be a dynamic force where there is really no stopping this kid.But at this point in his carrer I believe what got him to the nba is not his game anymore,it’s better,it’s different,it’s evolving.I watched his entire season at USC and tought to myself “the best is yet to come”.At USC he was more of a three 1st,2nd and 3rd type of player that would always be a good bench player because I never saw a attacking,slashing,probing player.But his first 10 games in the league quieted all the critics.He came in with alot of hype and performed well but he still has a long nba life in front of him and has to work on some things to get better.Compairing Oj Mayo and Kobe Bryant right now is unfair,but for the future is intreging.From how they walk,elavate over defenders and have a Gasol as their main big down low.But Mayo himself has said that he’s just trying to be the best player he can be,work hard every summer and be at a high level come season end.That’s all I want to hear honestly he knows he’s the franchise player in Memphis,but he also knows they’re a few pieces away from being real good.I still think he’s the single most talanted player under 24 in the nba and the most skilled player to come in the league since lebron james.He has it all from getting his shot off anytime he wants to getting to the hole at a great rate.HE’s a great free throw shooter at 87%,is a better rebounder than his stat says at 4.3 per game which is extra since the 6’5″ 210 pound rookie led his team in scoring with 18+ a game.Oj Mayo started every game this season and doesn’t play a out of control style game like wade,lebron and kobe did,what he does is play with alot of confidence,selflesness and swagger and the rest is done WITH WHAT LOOKS LIKE GREAT EASE.And im tired of people saying he’s not athletic he had the 2nd best vertical in his draft and when he feels like turning his jets on you’ve saw what he can do just ask hilton armstrong,dalembart,jeff green they will tell yo how big,strong,quick/fast and athletic he is.Kobe said something about mayo that stuck to my mine “oj is one of the most talented young guys in the league.he does things on this level that alot of players his size and age cant and wont do”.So i offically say oj mayo is not a combo gaurd he a stud 2 gaurd with lead gaurd skills.What i mean by lead gaurd skills is when the game is on the line who runs everything.kobe,lebron,wade,pierce,and now mayo.he has a great handle for the ball even moresome than fellow rookie derrick rose,he’s a great defender for his age and he never backs down from a challenge.i saw d wade cross him over an mayo never made it a one on one game nor when he played against kobe.That says alot when on a big stage he never loses his compoisure and if one part of his game is not working something else will.So yes i do compaire him to kobe and knows it’s legit…..YOU FIND OUT
Mayo will probably be better than Kobe. Kobe realizes Mayo is the best perimeter player of the next generation. Just like Michael Jordan realized Kobe was and took him under his wings. Just like Kobe is trying to do with Mayo.
